Sliding Scale Policy

At Karmic Life Design, our commitment to empowering individuals to live their best lives extends to ensuring our services are financially accessible. We recognize that income disparities can create barriers to accessing high-quality therapeutic support. To address this, we offer a sliding scale fee structure designed to make our services more affordable for clients with lower household incomes. 

Purpose of the Sliding Scale

Our sliding scale is an equity-based tool that allows individuals with lower incomes or limited financial resources to access our services at a reduced rate. It is built on trust and a commitment to supporting our community.

Eligibility and How It Works

Our sliding scale is determined by a client's gross annual household income and the number of dependents within their household. This approach allows Karmic Life Design to serve a broader community while maintaining the financial viability of the practice.

To assess eligibility, clients will be asked to provide confidential proof of income (e.g., recent pay stubs, tax returns, or other relevant financial documentation) during the application process. All documentation provided will be kept strictly confidential.

Sliding Scale Tiers for Individual Sessions

Below are the guidelines for our income based sliding scale, applied to individual sessions. The rates are calculated based on the stated percentage of the $75 baseline price. If you are purchasing packages or workshops, you are entitled to the same discounted percentage approved for. 

Application Process

• Initial Consultation: Clients interested in the sliding scale should express this during their complimentary 30-minute initial consultation.

• Financial Review: A brief application form will be provided, along with instructions for submitting income verification.

• Rate Determination: Upon review, the approved sliding scale rate will be communicated. This rate typically applies for a period of 6 months, after which eligibility may be reassessed.

• Limited Availability: A limited number of sliding scale slots are available to ensure the sustainability of the practice. A waitlist may be utilized if all current slots are filled.

Review and Adjustment

Your sliding scale rate will be discussed and agreed upon during your initial consultation. We recommend reviewing your rate annually or if there is a significant change in your financial circumstances (e.g., job loss, new employment, change in household size).

Confidentiality

All information shared regarding your financial situation will be held in the strictest confidence. Your fee tier will not be disclosed to anyone outside of the necessary administrative staff involved in billing.
